Since 2009, we've been the last call truckers make before their rig breaks down — and the first they trust for major rebuilds.
Truck & Autoworks started in a two-bay garage on Industrial Place. The founder, Mike O'Leary, was a fleet manager who got tired of watching third-party shops upsell unnecessary work or miss obvious problems. So he hired the best diesel techs he knew — Carlos and Jamal — and built a shop that treats every truck like it's hauling your own paycheck.
Today, we've got six bays, a full diagnostic suite, and a client list that includes owner-operators, regional fleets, and even a few garbage haulers. We've rebuilt over 1,200 engines, handled thousands of brake jobs, and sent countless trucks back on the road — often ahead of schedule.
We're not the cheapest shop on Long Island, but we're the one drivers call when they need it done right. No fluff, no fake timelines — just diesel expertise and a promise to get you rolling.
Every lead tech on our floor holds ASE Master Diesel certification. We attend annual training on Cummins, Detroit, and Caterpillar platforms — because engine tech changes fast.
We invested $40k in JPRO, Cummins InSite, and Detroit DDDL diagnostic tools. Guesswork wastes time. We pinpoint failures, not symptoms.
Before we touch a bolt, you get a breakdown: parts, labor, timeline. If we find something else mid-job, we call before adding it to the bill.
We don't promise two-day engine rebuilds. But if we say it's done Friday, it's done Friday — not the following Wednesday with excuses.
Broke down within 30 miles? We'll dispatch a mobile tech with tools and diagnostic gear. Flat rate $250 trip fee, labor charged after arrival.
Manage 3+ trucks? We offer monthly PM contracts with priority scheduling and a 10% discount on labor. Keep your fleet DOT-ready and on the road.
The people who'll actually work on your truck — not just answer the phone.
Lead Diesel Technician
18 years under the hood. Carlos started as an apprentice at a Mack dealership, earned his ASE Master certs, and joined us in 2011. He's rebuilt more Cummins ISX engines than most techs have seen. When it's critical, Carlos takes the lead.
Transmission Specialist
Former engineer at Eaton. Jamal left the corporate grind to do what he loves — rebuild gearboxes. He's handled over 400 Eaton Fuller transmissions and knows every quirk of Allison automatics. If your shifts are rough, Jamal smooths them out.
Shop Foreman & Owner
Mike ran fleets for a decade before opening this shop. He coordinates jobs, handles road calls, and makes sure work gets done on time. Ex-fleet managers know how downtime costs — Mike doesn't tolerate delays.
Brake & Suspension Tech
Air brakes, spring replacements, alignment — Tony handles everything below the frame. 12 years experience with Meritor and Bendix systems. If your pedal feels mushy or your truck pulls left, Tony diagnoses it fast.
Bring your truck in for a diagnostic. We'll give you a straight answer and a fair price.
